Water Issues in Georgia

A significant amount of work is being done to help Georgians better manage the water resources of this rapidly growing state. Click on the links to learn more about these important water projects:

• The Water Council is overseeing the development of a comprehensive statewide water management plan.
  
  
• Georgia EPD is completing a seven-year Coastal Water Study to determine the impact of population growth on the supply of fresh groundwater in the state's coastal region.
  
  
• Work is being completed on the Flint River Basin Plan, which will be the result of a scientific study of agricultural water use in southwest Georgia's lower Flint River Basin.
