Public Meetings Scheduled: New
EPD has scheduled three public meetings to answer questions from the public
regarding the draft list and to receive comments. The dates and locations for these meetings are as follows:
February 19, 2008 (6:00 – 7:30 pm) - Environmental Protection Division

February 21, 2008 (6:00 – 7:30 pm) - Sara Hightower Regional Library, 205 Riverside Parkway, Rome, Georgia 30161
February 25, 2008 (3:00 – 4:30 pm) - Coastal Electrical Membership Cooperative, 1265 South Coastal Hwy, US Hwy 17, Midway, Georgia 31320
Inclement Weather: If inclement weather (i.e. snow/ice) occurs on the day within the geographic region where the public meeting is scheduled, EPD may cancel the meeting. Since it would be difficult for EPD to provide a timely notice of a meeting cancellation, the public is advised to pay attention to any public school closings. If public school systems are closed in the County where the meeting is to be held, then EPD will not hold the meeting as scheduled.
The Georgia 2008 305(b)/303(d) draft list of waters was prepared in accordance with Sections 305(b) and 303(d) of the Federal Clean Water Act and guidance from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Assessed waterbodies are classified according to a comparison of water quality monitoring results to water quality standards and other pertinent information. Written comments on the draft list are welcome. To insure their consideration, written comments should be received on or before 4:30 p.m. February 29, 2008.
